LOVE his style!

By critters VINE VOICE on March 24, 2012

Format: Kindle Edition

This guy's funny, and he makes an awful lot of sense. Unlike many, I agree with him; personally, I don't do "white coats" much. I sure wish Dr. Andrews were still practicing; I'd be there in a minute. Sigh--I wish I could find a doc like him. Most higly recommended!

Very interesting and helpful ways of evaluating your medical treatment

By L. Woods on April 22, 2013

I think this is a very worthwhile read for everyone, warning us about the need to look after our health ourselves (since medicine is a for-profit business whose chief concern is not to make you feel better) and also giving some good indicators of what a good doctor would do versus a not so good doctor in many circumstances. The book clearly warns you against over-treatment, which may be unnecessary, expensive, and even very harmful to your health. The writing style was very easy to read and enjoyable. Some specific tools (references) are given to help you evaluate your doctor's diagnoses of your problems and the drugs he/she prescribes for you.

The Title of This Book Really Tells It All!

Don't we all just go along with our doctors and what they recommend? This book changed my mind about going with the flow. It really makes you stop and think about what you've been doing in regards to your health care. Written by a physician, it points out that ultimately, your health-care decisions are in your hands alone. Do you really need that medication, laboratory test or surgery? The answer to those questions is the reason why it is so important to choose your physician with care, and this book really helps you to make all those choices wisely, based on common-sense questions. I highly recommend that you read the book...at this time with so many changes in our health-care system, it might make all the difference to your quality of care.

Fine if you live in the states!

Ok, this is probably a really useful book if you live in the USA but not a lot of help if you live anywhere else ..... especially the uk where your not going to get much of a choice of doctors let alone consultants and how much they make isn't much of an issue anyway.
